Gokul Sapkota is the visionary and compassionate Managing Director of Kathmandu Suite Home, a boutique three-star hotel in the heart of Thamel, Kathmandu. With decades of dedicated experience in Nepal’s tourism and hospitality industry, Gokul combines professionalism, humility, and heartfelt service to create unforgettable stays for travelers from around the world.

His inspiring journey began humbly as a porter in the Himalayas before becoming a government-licensed trekking guide. These years of firsthand experience in Nepal’s mountains gave him a deep understanding of the needs, expectations, and cultures of international travelers. Driven by passion, resilience, and a commitment to exceptional service, he later founded Outshine Adventure, one of Nepal’s trusted local trekking and tour operators specializing in Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan, where he serves as the Founder & Managing Director. His extensive experience in adventure tourism and hospitality has also shaped Kathmandu Suite Home into a hotel that reflects authentic Nepalese hospitality, comfort, personalized service, and genuine local experiences. Today, he continues to promote sustainable tourism while creating memorable journeys and warm hospitality for visitors from around the world. 

Under his leadership, the hotel has earned a reputation as a welcoming home away from home. Gokul is fluent in Nepali, English, Spanish, Japanese, Hindi, and Sanskrit, allowing him to connect with guests from diverse cultures with ease, kindness, and respect. Every guest is assured of professional attention, warm care, and the promise that their comfort and satisfaction come first.

• Executive Director of Junkiri Nepal, an organization committed to community empowerment.

• Lt. Governor of Kiwanis Club Nepal (2021–2022), where he worked tirelessly to uplift communities through service projects.

• Active member of NGO Federation of Nepal, contributing to long-term development and social initiatives.

With a strong commitment to children’s education and health, Gokul has championed several programs that directly impact underprivileged communities in Nepal. His work with Kiwanis International reflects his dedication to building a better future for children and families.

Introduction of Mr Hari Kumar Shrestha.

Mr Hari Kumar Shrestha is a highly respected entrepreneur and the proud Director of Hotel Kathmandu Suite Home. Born into a hardworking farming family, his inspiring journey began as a porter in Nepal’s trekking industry. With determination, humility, and a vision for excellence, he rose through challenges to establish himself as the owner of a renowned hotel and a successful travel company.

A former Executive Member of the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATA), Mr Shrestha has played an active role in strengthening Nepal’s tourism sector. His approachable and humble personality has earned him a wide network of connections both in Nepal and around the world, making him a trusted and admired figure in hospitality and adventure tourism.

Passionate about community service, Mr Shrestha is dedicated to uplifting local communities and promoting sustainable tourism practices. During his leisure time, he enjoys exploring new destinations both within Nepal and internationally, further broadening his knowledge and vision for the industry.

With his inspiring life story, leadership skills, and warm personality, Mr Shrestha is celebrated as a true friend and guide to travellers and colleagues alike, embodying the spirit of Nepalese hospitality and resilience.

Tilak Bahadur Thapa Magar

Founding Member

Tilak Bahadur Thapa Magar is one of the founding members of Kathmandu Suite Home, which has been welcoming guests from around the world since 2017. As a founding member, he continues to support the hotel’s long-term vision of providing genuine Nepalese hospitality, exceptional guest experiences, and responsible tourism.

His journey in Nepal’s tourism industry began in 1992 at a young age. Over more than three decades, he has built extensive experience across Nepal’s tourism sector, particularly in adventure tourism, trekking, mountaineering, destination promotion, and sustainable tourism development. Throughout his career, he has worked with travellers, tourism partners, and international organisations to promote Nepal as one of the world’s most inspiring travel destinations. He believes that every visitor should experience not only the country’s breathtaking landscapes but also the warmth, culture, and hospitality that make Nepal truly unique.

Alongside his professional career, Tilak is pursuing an MPhil–PhD in Rural Development, where his research focuses on sustainable tourism, rural livelihoods, local governance, and community development. He is passionate about ensuring that tourism contributes to the well-being of local communities while preserving Nepal’s cultural heritage and natural environment for future generations.

Community service has always been an integral part of his life. A dedicated member of Rotary International since 2012, he served as Secretary (2015–2016) and President (2018–2019) of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu North East under Rotary International District 3292 (Nepal & Bhutan). Through Rotary, he has supported initiatives in education, healthcare, environmental conservation, youth leadership, and community development. He is also a Paul Harris Fellow, reflecting his commitment to The Rotary Foundation, whose humanitarian and educational programs improve lives in communities around the world.

Known for his integrity, collaborative spirit, and lifelong commitment to Nepal’s tourism industry, Tilak continues to advocate for responsible, ethical, and sustainable tourism. He believes that successful tourism should create meaningful experiences for visitors while generating lasting benefits for local communities.

For Tilak, hospitality is an extension of Nepal’s culture—welcoming every guest with sincerity, respect, and genuine care. He believes that the true success of a hotel is measured not only by the quality of its facilities but by the relationships it builds, the trust it earns, and the lasting memories guests take home.
